Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is a World Heritage cite and it is easy to see why.  Mom and I took the tour which was quite good, and learned a lot about the inception of and building of the Opera House which started in 1959 and didn't complete until 1973.  I would love to see a show here some time.  There isnt much to say because the building speaks for itself.

The tour guide told us that once when Pavarotti was there to perform he refused to walk on this purple carpet which covers the lobby.  In Italy, the coffins are lined with this color and it is considered BAD LUCK!!
