We hit both Parliament houses during Mom's visit. The first, Old Parliament House, is home to the Museum of Australian Democracy. We had a good time wandering through almost 100 years of legislative history. It was interesting to see the progression of government for another country. I was most impressed with the physical building. Built in 1927, it is a gorgeous building with wooden floors and ghosts of MPs past.

Then, it was on to New Parliament House. (Not necessarily in that order...) The new one was built in order to hold the growing number of MPs (Members of Parliament) that seem to come with the growth of a nation.

| This is the New House of Representatives. This is the new speaker's chair. The green reflects OPH, but also the Gum Tree native to Australia |

| The new Senate. The biggest chair is reserved for Her Majesty the Queen when she visits. |

| This is the Great Hall. The trees on the back wall are actually a woven tapestry based on art work by Arthur Boyd. |
