The Olympics may be over, but my head is still swimming!
My what a difference a few months makes. Just December I was needing a break and going quietly mad. While I am still not out of the woods, it is ironic that I mentioned going to Australia in my last post. I found out two short months later that I am being transferred there for work! How very exciting. I still have tons on my plate and should be working on my SECOND proposal for my dissertation after the first was rejected but I just cant. I am overwhelmed at the prospect of the adventure before me. So G'day everyone. ;D

Squirrel!
I should be writing on my dissertation. However, I just cannot think about grounded theory, citations or any of it. I am dying for some sort of break from everything-school, work, laundry...all of it. I hear its summer time in Australia this time of year. Too bad thanks to school, there is no budget for flighs of fancy. *ACK* I guess surfing on the internet will have to do.

Alzheimer's SUCKS!!!
As the annual Memory Walk gears up here in Dallas, it causes me to reflect. This year, I am reflecting on how Alzheimer's has ruined my life. Having not one, but TWO grandparents striken with this dreadful disease seems rather unfair. Whats that? Life is unfair? Yes, I know this. But until you have answered the exact same question no less than 20 times, been called "honey" because they cant remember your name, or had to administer medication to someone who does not believe they need medication then you cannot fully understand the meaning of "unfair". I miss my grandmother every single day. Though she passed away nearly two years ago, I have missed her much longer than that. In reality she left us about 4 years ago to be honest. I hate Alzheimers. I really dont like talking about Alzheimers. But it keeps getting forced down my throat. I love Grey's Anatomy. Yet, when I need it least, they include Alzheimers in their story line. Dont they know that whenever my mom forgets her keys or I cant remember why I went into a room I am TERRIFIED that she or I are next. It is scary. I hate it.
